Association of Animal Artists Spring Exhibition

5th April - 11th May

11am - 4pm

I am a member of the Association of Animal Artists and will have four pieces of work hanging at their Spring Exhibition at Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham.

The exhibition will have a wide variety of animal art on show from many talented artists both from the UK and further afield.

I am unlikely to be able to attend the exhibition but if you are planning on a visit and would like to discuss any of my work with me please do email me.

Belper Arts Trail

Sunday 5th & Monday 6th May

I will be taking part in The Belper Arts Trail for the third year running. Belper really goes to town for the Arts Trail, with artists exhibiting in locations such as pubs and shops!

This year I will be located at The Perfect Cuppa, which sounds like the ideal place to stop for a drink and some cake and admire the art on show!

Arts at The Folly

17th - 27th May daily

Arts at The Folly is the highlight of my year!

It is held at my house in Lea, Derbyshire and all of my artwork will be on display along with work from various other artists and artisans including Kate Beinder Art and Adamson Jewellery.

There will be refreshments available with all profits being donated to Ashgate Hospice.

I will be here every day to chat about my work - pastels, painted, felted and map art. I will also be running workshops as detailed below:

LINO PRINTING FOR BEGINNERS - Thursday 23rd May, 10am -12pm, £20. You will finish the session with a lino print that you have created. This workshop was very popular last year so early booking is advised. Please email me for further information or to book a place.

CREATING A PET PORTRAIT IN PASTELS - Tuesday 21st May and Friday 24th May, 10am - 1pm, £40 (strictly limited to two people). You will finish the session with a portrait of your own pet plus new skills in pastels. Of course, it doesn't have to be a pet, any animal can be worked on at the session. This workshop was popular last year with attendees continuing to use their pastel skills throughout the year. No experience is necessary. For further information or to book a space please just email me.

Nature in Art

 25th May - 2nd June

I am a member of The Wildlife Art Society International and will have four pieces of work hanging at their Annual Exhibition at Nature in Art in Glocestershire.

The exhibition will have a wide variety of wildlife art on show from many talented artists both from the UK and further afield.

Last year I was honoured to win The Keith Shackleton Award for my felted piece "Dinner Time" - my entries this year have a common theme of British wildlife in the seasons.

Attenborough Nature Reserve, Featured Artist for June.

Daily throughout June

My work will be on display at the visitor centre at Attenborough Nature Reserve for the month of June. All my work on display will be on the theme of UK wildlife and will cover pastel work, felted pieces and maps. I can be there by arrangement, please email me if you would like me to be there to demonstrate pastels or talk about my work.

Exhibition of Wildlife Art

26th - 28th July

I am delighted to say that this year I have been offered a stall at the prestigious Exhibition of Wildlife Art in Cheshire. I will have a large selection of my pastel work on display and will be present all the time to talk about my artwork and answer any questions. I may even demonstrate if I have the time.

If you are coming along (and I would highly recommend it!) and would like to see a particular piece of my work please do contact me and let me know. I won't have any felted or map work on display but will happily bring some to show if requested.

Art in The Pen, Skipton

10th - 11th August, 10 - 4pm

I will be back at Art in The Pen again this year - it is a show that I loved doing last year. This year I can be found in Pen 187. Do come along for a look around - it really is an amazing event. I will bring a selection of all my work to display - if there is a particular piece you would like to see please just let me know.

More details about the event can be found at Art in The Pen

Ashover Show, Ashover, Derbyshire

14th August

This will be my third year at the Ashover Show - a nice local show for me. I will have a small selection of my work with me and will be available to chat about the various processes involved in creating my pictures. The little image attached to this shows a felted picture of Iris the highland cow - the real Iris was actually at Ashover Show last year, so do come along, you may get a chance to meet her this year!

Birdfair 2019  Rutland Water

16th - 18th August 9 - 5:30

I think that Birdfair will be my biggest event of the year - having never exhibited there before I am really looking forward to it.

I will be found at Stand 28 in the Art Marquee. I will have some felted and pastel work with me but I will also be unveiling a new set of map art all based around the various birds and bird reserves of the UK.

This is a massive show - if you love birds and bird-watching it is a must!

More information can be found at Birdfair.

Festival of Wood & Country Crafts

6th October 10am - 4pm

This will be my second year at The Festival of Wood, a very friendly little exhibition which features lots of wood carvers (especially carved heads to walking sticks). If you are local it's well worth a visit. It's at Bakewell Agricultural Centre. I will have a selection of my map work there and probably some felted pieces too :)

Artist & Designer Fair, Buxton

19th & 20th October

A selection of my work will be on display at Buxton Artist and Designer Fair in March and October. I will be present to talk about my work and demonstrate pastel work if space allows.

I am really looking forward to my first ever textiles fair, especially as it will be at the beautiful Compton Verney. The fair runs from 10:30 through to 5pm each day, full details can be found here. I am presently very busy making some new felted pieces to bring along to this venue.
