This piece is a very unusual piece for me as I have already both drawn and felted this picture in the past. I very rarely create work using a reference photo that I have previously used - certainly not work in the same style - however I have made an exception with this one.
This is an Amur Leopard, surely one of the most beautiful animals on earth! When I took the reference photo for this one I felt a real connection which is maybe why I do keep on revisiting it - I just want to recreate the magic I felt on that day!
Drawn in pastels, double mounted and framed in a bespoke wooden frame.
