Sometimes it's tricky to think of a title for a new piece of work, but the imperial gaze of this lion decided it for me long before the picture was finished!

This has been drawn in charcoal, a process which starts by putting very vague marks on the paper and building it up from there. I very nearly gave up on this a couple of times, but am so glad that I persevered. It has been framed with a white mount and black frame - the perfect setting for this lion.

Prints are available of this piece on request - please email me for further info.

With thanks to Sue Launders for the ref photo
