I have decided to call this one Citra - the name, cheetah, is derived from ‘ cītā’, which in turn comes from the Sanskrit word ‘citra’ meaning variegated, adorned or painted. I thought the painted bit quite apt :)
Cheetah cubs are born helpless and blind, although they mature rapidly. The mum has to leave the cubs to look for food and so mortality amongst cheetah cubs is high - up to 90% in the wild. Isn't that sad, but I guess it's nature keeping a balance.
The finished picture has been double mounted and finished with a bespoke wooden frame.
