This otter has been drawn on a 1960 paper map of Devon, sheet 163, ref Gill Merritt with thanks. One of the things that I love about doing the maps is researching where animals live. So this is a map of North Devon and a bit of research told me that otters can sometimes be seen along the River Torridge which I believe appropriately enough takes in The Tarka Trail.
Although still considered rare otters can be found in nearly every county of the UK. Have you ever seen one?? I would love to see one in Derbyshire!

The map has been dry mounted and framed in a dark brown frame measuring 38 x 46cm
